Quizzes & assignments

This page shows you how to assess learners in Zinye Learn, so a course is more than just “watched the videos.”

Quizzes

Section titled “Quizzes”

A quiz is a set of questions that’s marked automatically — perfect for quick knowledge checks.

  1. Add a quiz as a lesson (or attach one to a course).
  2. Add questions — multiple choice, true/false, and so on — each with the correct answer.
  3. Set a pass mark if learners need to score a minimum.

Learners get their result instantly, and you can require a passing score before the course counts as complete.

Assignments

Section titled “Assignments”

An assignment is work a learner submits for a person to review — an essay, a file, a task done back at their desk. Use these when judgement is needed and a right/wrong answer won’t do.

  1. Add an assignment lesson with clear instructions.
  2. Learners complete it and submit their work.
  3. An instructor reviews the submission and records the outcome.

Which to use

Section titled “Which to use”
  • Quiz — facts and understanding you can mark automatically (fast, scalable).
  • Assignment — skills and judgement that need a human eye.

Many courses use both: quizzes through the lessons, an assignment at the end.
