Key concepts

A handful of words run through all of Zinye CRM. Learn these and everything else clicks.

A lead is someone who has shown interest but isn’t a customer yet — a website enquiry, a contact from an event, or a referral. A lead is where you capture early interest and start a conversation. A lead holds one person.

A deal is a qualified opportunity you’re actively working to close. A deal usually starts life as a lead and is converted once you see real potential. Unlike a lead, a deal can have multiple contacts and a value, and it moves through your pipeline. Deals also track upsells, renewals, and repeat business with an organization.

A contact is a person; an organization is the company they belong to. When you convert a lead, Zinye CRM can create the contact and organization for you (or link to existing ones), so your address book builds itself as you sell.

Your pipeline is the journey a deal takes from “just started” to “won” (or “lost”), shown as a series of statuses (stages). Moving a deal along the pipeline is how you and your team see what’s close to closing and what needs a nudge. You can view your pipeline as a list or a Kanban board.

Every lead and deal has an activity center — a single place that keeps the full context: the timeline of what’s happened, emails, team comments, call logs, tasks, and notes. Because it’s all on the record, anyone picking up the deal has the whole story.
