Inventory
This page shows you how Zinye ERP tracks stock — where it is, how it moves, and how to keep the numbers honest.
Warehouses
Section titled “Warehouses”A warehouse is a storage location — and it can be as broad or as fine as you like (a building, or a shelf inside it, since warehouses form a tree: Warehouse → Room → Row → Shelf). Create them under Stock → Settings → Warehouse, ticking Is Group for a parent that holds sub-warehouses.
Most stock movement happens automatically — a delivery note reduces stock, a purchase receipt increases it. You only make manual entries for the cases below.
Stock entries
Section titled “Stock entries”A Stock Entry records item movement that isn’t a sale or purchase. Go to Stock → Stock Transactions → Stock Entry and pick a purpose:
- Material Receipt — bring stock in (added to the target warehouse).
- Material Issue — take stock out (removed from the source warehouse).
- Material Transfer — move stock between your warehouses.
- Plus manufacturing and repack movements.
Stock reconciliation
Section titled “Stock reconciliation”A Stock Reconciliation (under Stock → Tools → Stock Reconciliation) does two jobs:
- Opening stock — set your starting quantities and valuations when you go live.
- Counts — after a physical stocktake, correct the system to match the shelf, with the difference posted automatically.
Valuation
Section titled “Valuation”Zinye ERP values your stock as it moves, so the value on your balance sheet reflects what you actually hold — no separate stock-valuation spreadsheet.
