Performance & appraisals

This page shows you how to run performance appraisals in Zinye HR — a structured, fair way to review your people rather than an ad-hoc once-a-year chat.

An appraisal template defines what you assess for a role — the criteria and their weights. Create role-specific templates (and link them to a designation) so everyone in a role is measured on the same things.

An appraisal cycle is a defined period over which performance is assessed:

  1. Create the cycle with a name, company, and date range.
  2. Choose how it’s scored — goal-based (automated) or manual rating.
  3. Use Applicable For to select the employees it covers.
  4. Click Create Appraisals to generate an appraisal for each.
  5. Start the cycle to begin.

A rounded score comes from three inputs:

  • Goals (KRAs) — what each person was meant to achieve.
  • Self-appraisal — the employee’s own rating.
  • Feedback — input from managers or peers.

By default the final score is the average of the goal score, feedback score, and self-appraisal score (you can use a custom formula). A dashboard tracks what’s pending — missing self-appraisals, feedback, or goals — so you can chase it.
