Organisation structure
This page shows you how to set up your organisation structure in Zinye HR. A little structure here is what makes approvals route correctly and reports group properly later — so it’s worth doing before you add many people.
The building blocks
Section titled “The building blocks”| Item | What it is |
|---|---|
| Department | A part of the business — Sales, Operations, Finance. |
| Designation | A job title — Accountant, Sales Manager. |
| Branch | A physical location or office. |
| Employee Grade | A pay/seniority band you can attach default salary and leave to. |
| Employee Group | A flexible grouping for reporting or bulk actions. |
| Employment Type | Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Intern, Probation. |
Set these up under the HR setup area, then pick them on each employee record.
The reporting line
Section titled “The reporting line”The most important link is reports to on each employee — their manager. This single field drives who approves their leave and expenses and builds your organisational chart, so set it carefully for everyone.
Organisational chart
Section titled “Organisational chart”Once reporting lines are in place, Zinye HR draws an organisational chart automatically — a clear, visual map of who reports to whom, handy for onboarding and planning.
