Key concepts
A few words run through all of Zinye Learn. Learn these and the rest is easy.
Course
Section titled “Course”A course is a single subject you teach — “Workplace Safety”, “How to Use Our Product”. It’s the main thing learners enrol in.
Chapter and lesson
Section titled “Chapter and lesson”Inside a course, content is organised into chapters, and each chapter holds lessons. A lesson is one step of learning — a video, some text, a quiz, or an assignment. Chapters and lessons let you break a big subject into bite-sized pieces in a sensible order.
Program
Section titled “Program”A program groups several courses into a guided sequence — useful when one topic builds on another (for example a full onboarding path made of five courses). You can require learners to take the courses in order.
A batch is a cohort of learners going through together — like a class with a start date. Batches let you track a group’s progress, run live classes, and manage evaluations, rather than treating everyone as a lone self-learner.
Quiz and assignment
Section titled “Quiz and assignment”These are how you assess learning. A quiz is auto-marked questions; an assignment is work a learner submits for a person to review. Both can be required before a course counts as complete.
Certificate
Section titled “Certificate”A certificate is proof a learner finished — issued automatically when they complete a course (or pass its assessments). Great for compliance training and customer education alike.
Instructors and students
Section titled “Instructors and students”A student (learner) takes courses. An instructor (or moderator) creates and manages them. The same person can be both — learning some courses and teaching others.
