First-time setup
This page shows you how to set up your company in Zinye ERP. Doing this first means every invoice, report, and account uses the right currency, dates, and tax rules.
Set up your company
Section titled “Set up your company”- Open the Company record (the setup wizard prompts you on a new site, or search for Company and open yours).
- Enter your Company Name — your legal business name.
- Set the Abbreviation — a short code (for example ZT) that Zinye ERP adds to your accounts and warehouses to keep them tidy. It’s filled in for you; you can change it.
- Choose the Default Currency — the currency you keep your books in.
- Set the Country — this picks the right tax and compliance defaults.
- Save.
Financial year
Section titled “Financial year”Your financial year (also called fiscal year) is the 12-month period your accounts run on — for example 1 January to 31 December. Zinye ERP creates one based on your country; check that the start month matches how your business reports.
Chart of Accounts
Section titled “Chart of Accounts”Zinye ERP sets up a standard Chart of Accounts for your country automatically, so you can start invoicing right away. You can rename or add accounts later as your accountant prefers — see Key concepts.
Set up the tax rates you charge and pay (for example VAT) so they’re applied automatically on invoices. You’ll find these under your accounting settings; add a tax template with your rate and the account it posts to.
